Constitution of DKE, Article II Section I
We are proud of our fraternity and the more than 70,000 men who have become our brothers since Delta Kappa Epsilon was founded in 1844. Dekes come from every walk of life. Many have gone on to distinguish themselves in politics, the arts, sciences, sports, education, and the humanities. Six U.S. Presidents have been Dekes, the most of any fraternity. The first man to
reach the North Pole was a Deke and a Deke has carried our flag to the moon. In every comer of the world you will meet fellow Dekes, but whatever their background or station in life, all are united by the shared experience of membership in Delta Kappa Epsilon.
We, the brothers of the Beta Chi chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon, are proud of our heritage. We promote our principal ideas of brotherhood, scholarship, and leadership in a manner that would , make our forebearers proud.
We are both brothers and true friends and while we work hard, rest assured we find plenty of time to play just as hard. Each brother strives equally to be “a gentleman, a scholar, and a jolly good fellow.”
What awaits one as a new member is a life of dedication, tradition, and spirited fun. We are looking for motivated individuals who wants to make a difference, guys who want to work hard and play hard, and men who will carry our traditions with dignity.
